We are losing good songs, songs with callout, songs that have the signs of being big at the format. Why you ask, because the minute a song slows downs to wait for callout the “spin watchers” get ready to pull the plug and move on before giving the song a minute to grow. We are moving things through the system and instead of looking for the good metrics we are looking for ways to pull them and move on. Slow down, let songs have time to become familiar before throwing them into callout and then allow it the time grow. Ok … I’ll get off my soapbox (for the moment). Next: Artist Separation!

Republic’s CW, Spangler and Russell look like they’ll retain that #1 position on the chart when Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee f/Justin Bieber’s “Despacito” (UMLE/RBMG/Def Jam) relinquishes it, as Shawn Mendes’ “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” (Island) climbs past everything this week heading to the top of the chart. Liam Payne f/Quavo’s “Strip That Down” is heading to Top 15 with a closed out panel, it’s #2 iTunes and Top 10 Shazam. Post Malone f/Quavo’s “Congratulations” is set to join the Top 20 and it is Top 10 Spotify. Hailee Steinfeld’s “Most Girls” is heading Top 25 with 50m video views currently. Demi Lovato’s “Sorry Not Sorry” charted this week after being Most Added on impact, it’s Top 15 on iTunes and Top 10 US Spotify. Julia Michaels’ “Uh Huh” is chartbound with Hits1, RD, Music Choice all leading the way. J. Balvin & Willy William’s “Mi Gente” (Universal Latin) has pulled in adds from Z100, WBMP, WKTU and KIIS. Fall Out Boy’s “Champions” impacted this week and scored major market adds from Z100, KVIL and WXSS

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio & Cooper pulled in big adds from KIIS and Z100 this week on Khalid’s “Location” (Right Hand), it’s a double-platinum single and set to join the Top 30. Kesha’s “Praying” (Kemosabe) charted this week and should be Top 25 shortly as one of the Greatest Gainers of the week, it’s climbing fast and we hear the early callout is very good. Enique Iglesias f/Descemer Bueno, Zion & Lennox’s “Subeme La Radio” (Sony Music Latin) was Most Added this week securing airplay from WBMP, Y100, WKTU and WODS

Glassnote’s Nick Petropoulos has Childish Gambino “Redbone” headed Top 15 and has all but closed out the panel. The callout is starting to stack up on this one and there are big spin-increases coming in from KIIS, WKSC, WWPW and WIOQ.

Warner BrosGray, Dyer, Reich & Shih moved Macklemore f/Skylar Grey’s “Glorious” (Bendo) into the Top 30 this week, there’s 150+ stations on-board and it was once again in the Most Added Column pulling in adds from 19 new stations. BeBe Rexha f/Lil Wayne’s “The Way I Are” is set to join the Top 30 next week and pulled in new airplay from WFLZ, WPOI and KRQQ.

Epic’s Afloarei & Dimig had the Most Added track at Top 40 this week as Louis Tomlinson f/BeBe Rexha’s “Back To You” scored 60 adds on impact including HITS1, KIIS, KHKS and WWPW. DJ Khaled f/Rihanna & Bryson Tiller’s “Wild Thoughts” (We The Best) is set to join the Top 10 and was the Top 5 Greatest Gainer again this week. French Montana f/Swae Lee’s “Unforgettable” (Bad Boy) is now Top 25 and is on over 100 stations. Fifth Harmony f/GucciMane’s “Down” also joined the Top 25 this week and has pulled in 150 stations.

Def Jam’s Sackheim, Rothschild & Farag have some great callout posting on David Guetta f/Justin Bieber’s “2U” and the track is now Top 15. Logic f/Alessia Cara & Khalid’s “1-800-273-8255” joins the Top 30 this week after pulling in new adds from KHTS, KHFI, WLDI and Y100.

Caroline’s Saturn, Halpern & Holman continue to grow Hey Violet’s “Hoodie” pulling in new airplay from KMXV, KCHZ and WNKS as they get ready to chart.

Capitol’s Marella, Rainey & Siciliano have Halsey’s “Now or Never” (Astralwerks) headed to the top of the chart, the panel is closed out and it is still Top 10 Shazam and Top 10 US Spotify. Niall Horan’s “Slow Hands” continues to grow and looks set to join the Top 10, it is BuzzAngle Pop #1 and #3 iTunes. Sam Hunt’s “Body Like A Back Road” (MCA Nashville) pulled in new adds this week from WBMP, WODS, WPOI and WLDI and is now Top 15. Jonas Blue f/William Singe’s “Mama” has 70+ stations on board scoring new airplay from Music Choice, WBBM, KLUC and WNCI this week as it climbs toward the chart.

Columbia Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan have Calvin Harris f/Pharrell, Katy Perry & Big Sean’s “Feels” set to join the Top 15 and it has cleared the panel, the track is #13 on iTunes, #9 US and #7 Global Spotify and #1 Shazam US & North America. The Chainsmokers’ “Honest” is now Top 25 and was the #3 Greatest Gainer for the week.
