Well, it’s here: Summer! Memorial Day Weekend is upon us, and with it comes the onslaught of big releases, summer shows and lots of excuses to leave the office early on Fridays. I look forward to all of the above, so bring it on!

Republic’s CW, Spangler and Russell dropped one of those big summer releases over the weekend with Taylor Swift f/Kendrick Lamar’s “Bad Blood” (Big Machine), and it’s already started to move up the chart. The 1989 World Tour kicks off this week too. And speaking of kicking off summer tours, Lava’s Jessie J will be the first act for GMA’s Summer Concert Series this week. Her single “Flashlight” is impacting T40 now. Nicki Minaj’s “The Night Is Still Young” (YMCMB) debuts at #23, while Tove Lo’s “Talking Body” (Island) moves into the Top 10.

Hollywood’s Finck, Smith and Ennis can all be seen enthusiastically practicing their dance moves, as they cheer on Ryker in the finals of DWTS and R5’s “Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight” continues to pick up believers. Andy Grammer’s “Honey, I’m Good” (S-Curve) moves up to #18 and shows no signs of slowing down. B97’s Jammer (pictured right) says, “Andy does it again with pure pop fun! ‘Honey, I'm Good’ is as pop and fun as it gets. Can't get it outta my head!”

Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood and Siciliano are impacting Sam Smith’s “Like I Do” this week; already on the board are SiriusXM Hits 1, WKSC, KZHT and WRVW, just to name a few. Both Ne-Yo’s “Coming With You” (Motown) and Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” (MCA Nashville) are getting ready to chart, and BANKS’ “Beggin For Thread” (Harvest) isn’t far behind them.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan picked up WWPW, KNOU and KXXM on George Ezra’s “Budapest” last week; it should move into the Top 20 this week. Launching at Pop off a successful Hot AC campaign is Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.” This song’s a female anthem, and radio should get on board. OMI’s “Cheerleader” (Louder Than Life/Ultra) charted this week and KHKS, WZFT, KZON and WNKS are already on the board. Calvin Harris f/HAIM’s “Pray to God” moves Top 30; it got back good early research from iHeart Consolidated this week, debuting at #11.

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Strazza, Daddio and Cooper are within striking distance of #1 with Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance.” With the media blitz and research coming in, it looks poised to make the move. Sia’s “Elastic Heart” (Monkey Puzzle) picked up 10 new adds last week, as it continues to climb the chart. Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea’s “Pretty Girls” has been Most Added at Pop for two weeks in a row and is mounting a huge list of call letters to see them to the top of the chart. Martin Garrix f/Usher’s “Don’t Look Down” is on over 100 stations and picked up WKQI, KBKS and WKSL last week. Pitbull f/Chris Brown’s “Fun” added 11 new stations last week, including Hits 1, WPOI and WXSS.

RAL’s Weil and Halpern are all smiles, as Shaggy f/Mohombi/Faydee/Costi’s “I Need Your Love” continues to grow in spins with +700 this week. And adding to the list of believers, new spins came in from WBBM, WDZH and KLUC.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich and Shih have Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” (Beluga Heights) moving into power everywhere and looking to reach the top of the chart soon. Meanwhile, Echosmith’s “Bright” sets its sights on the Top 15. Adam Lambert’s “Ghost Town” charted this week and picked up new airplay from WKTU, KHTT and WPXY.

Epic’s Team Glassman have two songs firing on all cylinders with Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” and Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink’s “Worth It” (SYCO). Both have moved Top 15 and have terrific sales and research to keep them moving up the chart. Mariah Carey’s “Infinity” is bubbling under and ready to chart with her new Greatest Hits collection dropping this week.

Def Jam’s Sackheim, Chester, Rothchild and Farag launched Axwell^Ingrosso’s “On My Way” last week, with B96, WDZH, and KREV among the list of new believers. Rihanna’s “American Oxygen” (Roc Nation) is at #34 with over 100 stations on board already. And Jeremih f/Flo Rida’s “Tonight Belongs to U” picks up WKGS, WHTS and WJIM to add to the list of early believers on the Pop side of things. Alesso f/Roy English’s “Cool” is on over 75 stations, and it’s #18 on the iTunes Dance Chart.

MUSIC WE LOVE: Sage The Gemini f/Nick Jonas’ “Good Thing” (Republic), Alyxx Dione f/Jason Derulo’s “Chingalinga” (RCA).
