POP TO WATCH

OK, I want the Apple Watch! It sort of makes the FitBit bracelet on my arm look silly. We all NEED one to help us be healthy, although some of that presentation from Apple today was just a little Big Brother-ish, don’t you think? But I still need one. Even though I haven’t worn a watch for years now. I STILL NEED ONE. Because, basically, it’s cool.

Speaking of cool: After just six weeks Def Jam’s Sackheim, Chester, Rothchild and Farag have Rihanna/Kanye/McCartney “FourFiveSeconds” at #6 and climbing; the track is the #2 single on the iTunes Top Pop Chart and #2 on the Shazam U.S. Chart. Axwell^Ingrosso’s “Something New” is on Y100, WBBM, and WJHM. Iggy Azalea f/Jennifer Hudson’s “Trouble” debuts this week at #36, and they’ll be performing together at the iHeart Music Awards on 3/29. After just one week, the “Trouble” video has over 7million views.

Hollywood’s Finck and Smith are launching R5’s “Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight” this week and KDIS, HITS1 and WBLI are already on the board.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer and Reich slipped out Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” this morning, and it’s already soaring up the chart, spinning on over 110 stations. Echosmith’s “Bright” is sitting at #32 and picked up KRQQ, WHHD and WDJX.

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Strazza, Daddio and Cooper have Pitbull f/Ne-Yo’s “Time of Our Lives” sitting at #4—it’s moved into Power rotation everywhere and was the #5 Greatest Gainer. Usher f/Juicy J’s “I Don’t Mind” is at #16 and has big believers in WODS, KTFM, WKSC and WNOW. It’s been a busy week for Kelly Clarkson, who’s all over TV promoting “Heartbeat Song”; the track is now Top 20 on Mediabase, while her new album Piece by Piece is this week’s #1 album and currently #6 at iTunes. Walk The Moon’s “Shut Up And Dance” is picking up big sales numbers in all the heavy airplay markets, including KDWB, KHKS, and WRVW, to name a few. And 12 new stations added Sia’s “Elastic Heart,” including WIOQ and WRVQ.

RAL’s Weil and Halpern charted Shaggy f/Mohombi/Faydee/Costi’s “I Need Your Love” this week, and they just keep adding majors to their list. Joining this week are WRVW and WZFT.

Republic’s CW, Spangler and Russell have Taylor Swift’s “Style” (Big Machine) poised and ready to take over the #1 spot on the chart; it was the Greatest Gainer again this week. Natalie La Rose f/Jeremih’s “Somebody” moves to #12 and is the #6 Greatest Gainer on the chart, as well as #7 on the U.S. Shazam chart. Right behind her on the Pop chart is Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time,” which was #1 on SNOL this week. Meanwhile, Island’s Nick Jonas (I am sure he is somewhere with his shirt off) continues his climb up the chart this week with “Chains” at #14 and joins Iggy on tour this summer. The Weeknd’s “Earned It” moves Top 30 after two weeks and is the #3 Most Thumbed Up track at Pandora. Spin leaders on Who Is Fancy’s “Goodbye” include Z100, KIIS, KMVQ and KKHH; it’s currently #31 on the chart. Sheppard’s “Geronimo” is impacting now, and Sirius/XM’s King of All Pop Kid Kelly says, “IT’S HUGE!”

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan have George Ezra’s “Budapest” chartbound just as Calvin Harris f/Ellie Goulding’s “Outside” joins the Top 10. One Direction’s “Night Changes” is now Top 15 and growing. And the totally fun “Bills” by LunchMoney Lewis is headed Top 30 and on over 50 stations already.

Epic’s Team Glassman charted Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink’s “Worth It” with help from WDZH, KDND and Venus. Life of Dillon’s “Overload” is bubbling under and ready to chart; majors on board include KHTS, KDWB and Y100.

Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood and Siciliano made a bold statement this week with an e-blast about the great sales and digital impression numbers on Ne-Yo f/Juicy J’s “She Knows,” a reminder that there are so many tools available and all should be considered. We couldn’t agree more. Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love” moves up to #23 and picks up new believers in WWWQ, KRBE and WFLC. Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” continues to climb the chart, and a brilliant remix with John Legend has been released for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2015. Eden XO launched last week and picked up WXXS, WNCI, WNKS and KIIS.

MUSIC WE LOVE: Rachel Platten, “Fight Song,” Fall Out Boy, “Uma Thurman”…
