POP MART: LEISA IS CHILLY & RCA IS ON FIRE

OK… so now that I’ve binged watched all the episodes of House of Cards, the next thing on my weekend agenda is to get outside! Dear Mother Nature, enough with the white stuff!! It’s March, dammit. Time for Spring Training, Spring Break, etc., so why is it still snowing and why is it so damn cold?! Enough is enough already. There’s even hail on the beaches in Cali. I need sunshine and warmth!

As for the biz, RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Strazza, Daddio and Cooper have #1s in seven formats this week. Now that is what I call getting the job done. Congrats, gentlemen! And for six weeks in a row, Mark Ronson f/Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” has been on top of the Pop chart. Pitbull f/Ne-Yo’s “Time of Our Lives” has moved Top 5 and is moving into power rotation everywhere, as the Shazam and iTunes numbers continue to grow. Usher f/Juicy J’s “I Don’t Mind” moves Top 5 and picks up WKTU, WBLI and WPRO. Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song” continues to grow as the media campaign kicks into high gear this week with appearances at GMA and Fallon, along with a People Magazine cover. Walk the Moon’s “Shut Up and Dance” picks up 15 new stations, including SiriusXM Hits 1, KNOU and KREV. Sia’s “Elastic Heart” (Monkeypuzzle) had a terrific add-week, picking up tons of majors, including Z100, WXKS and KIIS, to name a few.

Epic’s Glassman launched Life of Dillon’s “Overload” last week with 70+ stations including KHTS, Y100 and WRVW. Up this week, Fifth Harmony’s “Worth It” (SYCO/Epic) is already on the board at KMVQ, WKQI and WJHM; nice start!

Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood and Siciliano continue to grow Ne-Yo f/Juicy J’s “She Knows” (Motown), picking up new airplay at KCHZ, KSLZ and WWWQ. Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” moves Top 30 with help from WEZB, KMXV and WWST, while Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love” moves Top 25. This week, they’re launching Eden XO’s “The Weekend” with early support already in from Hits 1, KXXM and KIIS.

RAL’s Weil and Halpern continue the growth on Shaggy f/Mohombi/Faydee/Costi’s “I Need Your Love” with their list of new majors including KSLZ, Z90, KHTS and KZON.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer and Reich pick up some new major market airplay on Echosmith’s “Bright” from WXSS, WXKS and WNKS.

Def Jam’s Sackheim, Chester, Rothschild and Farag pick up KDIS and XHTZ to close out the Pop panel on Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds” (Roc Nation) and the track continues to be at the top of the iTunes and the Shazam chart. With 70+ Pop adds on impact, Iggy Azalea f/Jennifer Hudson’s “Trouble” is already chart-bound. Axwell^Ingrosso’s “Something New” launched with 30+ adds including WDZH, WFLC and WKSE. Kanye West f/Paul McCartney’s “Only One” picks up new adds at WZFT, KRQQ and WKFS.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan impacted “Budapest,” by VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist George Ezra, last week and picked up over 40 stations including WIOQ, WNCI, KUDD and WZPL. Calvin Harris f/Ellie Goulding’s “Outside” picked up 14 new adds, including KZHT and KYLD. After 14 weeks on the chart, One Direction’s “Night Changes” (SYCO) moves Top 15 and continues to see airplay and research stories grow each week. LunchMoney Lewis’ “Bills” charted this week and posted KDWB and WKST, along with 14 others.

Republic
’s CW, Spangler and Russell have moved Taylor Swift’s “Style” (Big Machine) Top 3 and are clearly headed for the top of the chart. They also have the Nick Jonas “Chains” (Island) at #17, Natalie La Rose f/Jeremih’s “Somebody” (IMG) at #18 and Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” at #19; all of which are continuing to gain in spins and sales. The Weeknd’s “Earned It” launched and charted first week with support from WKQI, WODS, KHKS and WPOI. Who is Fancy’s “Goodbye” (Schoolboy/Big Machine) is already on 90+ stations and is moving quickly up the chart. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj f/Drake & Lil Wayne’s “Truffle Butter” (YMCMB) is headed Top 25 and has moved to power at WXSS.

MUSIC WE LOVE: Marlon Roudette’s “When the Beat Drops Out” and Avicii’s “The Nights”...
