One of the most interesting, talented and envelope-pushing record guys I ever met was Bob Krasnow, aka Ernie or Bilko (nicknames given to Kras by Warner’s Lenny Waronker because of his resemblance to Phil Silvers, who played Master Sergeant Ernest G. Bilko in the hit ’50s sitcom The Phil Silvers Show).
The surprise release of The Stage, Avenged Sevenfold’s seventh album and first for Capitol, was celebrated in sci-fi style Thursday night. If the new album performs anywhere near as well as its predecessor, it could debut at #1 next week...

The manager-less Mars is looking way down from the label forecast of 400k, and appears set to debut in the range of 200-225k.
