BRITNEY SCALES THE TOWER

Capitol Music Group has upped Britney Davis to VP of Artist Relations, Marketing & Special Projects. She’ll continue to report to Motown GM Marc Byers and CMG SVP Global Marketing Gabriela Schwartz, who issued the announcement.

In her new post she’ll work on projects on the entire CMG roster, with particular focus on Motown and Quality Control Music. The Hollywood-based exec has been working with such acts as Lil Baby, City Girls and Queen Naija, among others in her prior capacity as Sr. Director of Marketing & Ops.

A quote from Byers and Schwartz (whose ability to speak simultaneously can be downright eerie) notes, in part, that Davis “epitomizes the new generation of music and entertainment executives, and we are incredibly excited about her well-deserved ascension” to VP.

For her part, Davis proclaimed, “I thank Marc, Gabriela, Ethiopia Habtemariam and the entire leadership team for recognizing my unique skill set and reimagining the scope of the modern executive.”

Davis joined the company last year after serving for seven years at Tina DavisPhase Too, where she worked in management and A&R (including day-to-day management of Chris Brown). The Howard University summa cum laude grad began her career as a CAA intern in 2008.

She's so excited about her promotion that she may not even mind appearing on our shabby website.
