A JOY TO BEHOLD (ANOTHER UPDATE)

UPDATE: Inside sources say Bren Joy has inked for distribution with J. Erving's Human Re Sources, while it's believed he'll soon be locking down a management deal with Troy Carter's Q&A and and Seth England of Maverick. As we note below, an agency is already in place; will the publishing piece of the puzzle reflect a new configuration on the landscape?

The 7/15 Nashville showcase by new-school R&B artist Bren Joy brought out a huge throng of labels, publishers, managers, agents and other biz folk. We can now add that the hot young act has signed with CAA.

Comments from attendees included "everyone came out" and "I've never seen more weasels at a show in my life." The young artist made a strong impression at the Exit/In with his live presentation and dynamic band; rumor has it management and publishing deals were on a fast track to completion going into the show. Could one or more of the uber-weasels in attendance have changed the equation?
