'70S SOUL, FUNK AND MORE: EXTRA CREDIT

In addition to our huge playlist of '70s, '80s and '90s songs, crafted to accompany our recent Black Music Month special issue, we now present an extra set of '70s songs, many of which are a bit off the beaten path. The Spotify version appears below; the Apple Music version is here.

You'll find tracks by several major acts as well as a few that are considerably more obscure. But you'll also hear songs that were subsequently sampled by the likes of Eminem, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Fatboy Slim and Beck.
