HITS LIST: WE THE BIZ

As we hit the middle of June, the biz can’t stop talking about The Jonas Brothers’ triumphant return, Taylor’s teasing of her first Republic album (which means she’s playing for the same team—the Reptors—as Nick, Joe and Kevin…oh, and #6) and EVP/GM Jim Roppo’s uncanny ability to keep the trains running on time out of Lipman Station. The vertical-leaping Luke Combs and his Sony Nashville label head, Randy Goodman, are leading a herd of late adopters into the streaming age. L.A.’s Guy Oseary, NYC’s Desiree Perez, Philly’s Clarence Avant and London’s Ted Cockle are all-stars on their respective teams. We can’t say the same for that venerable hippie capitalist who’s desperate to plant his Woodstock 50 flag somewhere—anywhere.
