FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Enthusiasm for Netflix’s adaption of the Mötley Crüe story, The Dirt, pushes the Eleven Seven soundtrack to #1 on iTunes this flipover Friday, leading a Top 6 of all new titles.

The fourth solo album from Jenny Lewis, On the Line (Warners), comes in at #2 followed by A Place We Knew (Island) from Apple Music’s Up Next artist for the month, Dean Lewis.

Andrew Bird’s 15th album, My Finest Work (Loma Vista), arrives at #4. Art lovers will immediately notice the homage to Jacques-Louis David’s The Death of Marat from 1793; others will say “huh?”

NAV, who said he was done with music not that long ago, reminds us of that Michael Corleone line: “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in” with the release of Bad Habits (XO/Republic). It’s #5.

Alternative rock trio Wallows make their way to #6 with Nothing Happens (Atlantic).

Over on songs, Logic’s new one, “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” (Def Jam) is already Top 10 on the day of its release.

While it hasn’t caught on online the way a Google search for “Florida man” plus your birthday has, but the City Girls “Act Up” challenge is pushing the QC/Motown/Capitol release up the Apple Music songs chart.
