FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS AT iTUNES AND APPLE MUSIC

Maybe it’s because it’s the Ides of March and everyone is watching their back, but it’s a slow flipover Friday as indie releases dominate the Top 10 at iTunes.

How slow you ask? Why, a jazz album is this week’s top newcomer.

The 13th album from Snarky Puppy, Immigrance (GroundUp), barks its way to #3 behind Maren Morris and A Star is Born. Todd Snider’s collection of songs recorded at Johnny Cash’s old studio, Cash Cabin Sessions, Vol. 3 (Aimless/Thirty Tigers) walks in at #4 followed one slot lower by Blaqk Audio’s Only Things We Love (BMG).

Karen O & Danger Mouse, who will appear on Stephen Colbert’s show on Monday, hit #7 with their collaboration, Lux Prima (BMG). (That's them in the picture on the right).

Veteran tejano/norteno group Intocable squeeze in at #9 with Percepcion (Universal Latin) while the sixth album from gospel singer William Murphy, Settle Here (Provident), is #10.

On the songs side, the top newcomer is Iggy Azalea’s “Sally Walker” (Bad Dreams/Empire) at #13.

Over at Apple Music, ScHoolboy Q’s two-minute “Numb Numb Juice” (TDE/Interscope) pours in at #8 on the song chart while the second release from Chief Keef & Zaytoven, GloToven (Glo Gang/RBC) has cracked the Top 30 at albums.
