iHEART HONORS INT'L WOMEN'S DAY WITH L.A. CONCERT

Tonight, to celebrate International Women’s Day, iHeartMedia and Alt 98.7 will host iHeartRadio Women Who Rock, an evening of performances featuring Karen O, St. Vincent, Lykke Li and others at the iHeartRadio Theater L.A. in Burbank. The event was initiated by iHeart Alternative head Lisa Worden.

The event was initiated by Lisa Worden, iHeart's Alternative Rock Brand Manager and PD of ALT 98.7.

iHeart is partnering with the Amazon series HANNA to present the concert; Karen O’s new “Anti-Lullaby” is the theme for the series, which follows the journey of an extraordinary, empowered young girl.

Donna Missal, Meg Myers and K.Flay will also be performing. The event will livestream on iheartradio.com/womenwhorock at 7pm PT.

Nationwide, more than 850 iHeartMedia radio stations and on-air personalities are involved in an on-air and online effort featuring top female musicians talking about their mentors and sharing personal stories about the artistic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world.

Among the dozens of participating artists are Halsey, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Haley Reinhart, Bishop Briggs and Ann Wilson.

“This year’s artist participation spans a range of ages, demographics and musical genres and is representative of the collective power of women in music—both today and for the future,” said Marissa Morris, iHeartMedia SVP of Artist Relations.

Halsey added, “The women who I look up to most in my life are the women who can overcome the obstacles of the boundaries that are placed around them.”

#BalanceforBetter is the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on 3/8 since 1913.

Additionally, iHeartMedia has teamed up with IBM’s #BeEqual initiative to promote the advancement of gender equality in business leadership. This multi-year program explores the importance of hiring, developing, mentoring and promoting women at every level of business.
