The Top 5 Highest-Grossing Films in America Over the Weekend

It was a slow weekend at the domestic box office, which was expected. According to Box Office Mojo, it was also the second-lowest grossing weekend of the year, with the Top 12 bringing in around $77.8m. Only a re-release of Universal's Schindler's List made the Top 15, but the Natalie Portman-led Vox Lux (Neon) did enjoy a nice soft opening, pulling in north of $162k from just six rooms for a $27k per-theater average and a place at #25.

1. Ralph Breaks the Internet (Buena Vista) $16.1m 3,795/$4,253 avg. (week 3)
2. Dr. Seuss' The Grinch (Universal) $15.2m 3,841/$3,951 avg. (week 5)
3. Creed II (MGM) $10.3m 3,752/$2,751 avg. (week 3)
4. Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Warner Bros.) $6.8m 3,451/$1,972 avg. (week 4)
5. Bohemian Rhapsody (Fox) $6.0m 2,953/$2,032 avg. (week 6)
