PRINE TIME TV

A segment on CBS Sunday Morning catapulted John Prine's The Tree of Forgiveness (Oh Boy) to #2 on the iTunes and Amazon album charts.

The 72-year-old icon has, as the piece notes, experienced a "career renaissance" of late—he's currently nominated for induction into both the Rock and Roll and Songwriter Halls of Fame—and Forgiveness (which bowed Top 5 in April) is strongly favored for high-profile love come Grammy nomination time.

On the show, you'll learn, among other things, about Prine's roots as a singing mailman, how an unexpected rave from film critic Roger Ebert sparked his early rise, his impact on fellow legends like Dylan and Springsteen, his battles with cancer and his pool-shark tendencies (as experienced by acolytes Dan Auerbach and Sturgill Simpson).
