BMG HIGH ON KEITH

Keith Richards has parked his four solo albums at BMG after signing a new worldwide deal with the label. BMG has handled his publishing since 2013.

BMG’s recently released Talk Is Cheap, Main Offender, and the studio/live compilation Vintage Vinos on all streaming platforms. Deluxe and expanded CDs and LPs, boxed sets and additional special projects—including the first ever digital release of Live at the Hollywood Palladium, December 15, 1998—are in the works.

A 40th anniversary edition of Richards’ debut solo single, a cover of Chuck Berry’s “Run Rudolph Run,” will be released 11/23 on red vinyl. Besides longtime collaborator Steve Jordan’s remix/remaster of the holiday classic, the 12-incher will also include a cover of Jimmy Cliff’s “The Harder They Come,” “Pressure Drop” with Toots & The Maytals, and a “Santa Keith” holiday card.

“This agreement paves the way for a reappraisal and repositioning of the solo work of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s true originals and arguably its most pre-eminent guitarist,” BMG EVP Global Catalogue Recordings Peter Stack said. “Fans can expect a program of releases which truly does justice to these great recordings.”
