After an afternoon of performing The Pleasure Principle in full at a Karaoke lounge, Gary Numan, second from left, signed with, from left, Big Deal Founder/CEO Kenny MacPherson, VP of A&R and Client Services Damon Booth and Founder/Executive Vice President Jamie Cerreta.
Gary Numan, the man who wrote and performed “Cars” back in 1979, has signed with Big Deal Music Publishing Group.
A&R and Client Services VP Damon Booth promptly noted that Numan has an extensive catalog and continues to add to it.
“Gary Numan’s influence extends far beyond ‘Cars,’ which still stands as one of music’s defining new wave singles. Over a career that spans four decades, Gary’s output has been and continues to be incredibly impressive.”
A pioneer of early electronic music, Numan continues to write and record new material and tour around the world; he’s playing the U.K. and Europe at the end of the year. He recently received the prestigious Ivor Novello Inspiration Award, which recognizes excellence in songwriting.
Guess you know what our earworm for the day will be.
