GOOGLE BRINGS A VOICE TO SPOTIFY

Spotify has a deal for Premium for Family subscribers: a free speaker. The streaming service and Google Home are partnering to connect music and voice activation at home by giving away Google Home Mini speakers.

“Teaming up with Google to invest in voice and to bring a Google device to all our Spotify families is a holy smokes moment," Spotify’s Chief Premium Business Officer Alex Norström told USA Today. "Our goal is ubiquity. We want to be everywhere where our users are."

Beginning Thursday, Voice Match on Google Home can identify up to six people, meaning each person can enjoy a personalized experience on Spotify via Google Assistant. The free speaker offer expires 12/31. Details are here.

As shown in the graphic, the family that shouts musicians' names together, stays together.
