U.K. CHARTS: STAR SHINES BRIGHT

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have scored a double, claiming the U.K.’s Official Singles and Albums #1s with “Shallow” (Polydor) and the A Star is Born soundtrack. It’s Gaga’s first chart-topping single in eight years and her fifth overall, and Cooper’s debut.

The soundtrack is spending a second week at #1 after being dethroned by Jess Glynne last week, who moves down to #3 today with Always in Between (Atlantic). The Greatest Showman ST (Atlantic) is back up to #2.

Richard Ashcroft has this week’s highest new entry with Natural Rebel (BMG), followed by another soundtrack, Bohemian Rhapsody (Virgin) by Queen at #5.

Disturbed land a third U.K. Top 10 with Evolution (Reprise) at #7, and the repack of Dua Lipa's self-titled debut, The Complete Edition (Warner Bros.), bumps the album up 47 places to #9.

The Overtones self-titled set (Gambling Man) is in at #11, Greta Van Fleet start at #12 with their debut full-length, Anthem of the Peaceful Army (Virgin EMI), and Christine and the Queens rise 21 positions to #21 with Chris (Because Music) following her performance on The Graham Norton Show.

On the Official Singles chart, “Promises” (Columbia) by Calvin Harris and Sam Smith is behind “Shallow” at #2 by just 1.2k combined sales.

Post Malone’s new single, “Sunflower” f/Swae Lee (Island) from the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse film, is the highest new entry at #7, while Kodak Black, Travis Scott and Offset break into the Top 10 with their collaboration “Zeze” (Atlantic) rising three slots to #8.

Two further A Star Is Born cuts are also in the Top 40: “Always Remember Us This Way” climbs to #25, and “I'll Never Love Again” rises to #27.
