Warner Bros.' debuting A Star Is Born had a strong opening weekend, breaking $40 million and finishing at #2 behind Sony’s Venom, which had an additional 500+ theaters on its side. This naturally bodes well for the Interscope soundtrack album, which also dropped Friday and is looking like a something, to say the least. But we digress.
Venom broke records this weekend, scoring more than $80m to top the previous October opening weekend by more than $20m.
