U.K. MIDWEEKS: DO QUEENS MAKE A WINNING HAND?

Christine and the Queens is #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums chart with second album Chris (Because Music) — but it’s a tight race, with just 2k combined sales currently separating the Top 4, which also includes new entries from Suede and Slash.

Suede are less than 1k sales behind Christine with The Blue Hour (Rhino) at #2. After Eminem with Kamikaze (Interscope) at #3, Slash is set for his highest U.K. chart entry as a named artist with Living the Dream (Roadrunner) f/Myles Kennedy new at #4.

A fourth U.K. Top 10 album is on the horizon for Joe Bonamassa, as Redemption (J&R Adventures) sits at #6. Josh Groban starts at #7 with Bridges (Reprise), and Prince is one slot behind at #8 with posthumous rarities collection, Piano & A Microphone 1983 (Warner Bros.).

Further down, Mercury Prize winners Wolf Alice return to the Top 40 with Visions Of A Life (Dirty Hit) currently back up to #11.

On the Official Singles midweeks, Calvin Harris & Sam Smith look set to extend their lead at #1 for a fourth week with “Promises” (Columbia).

This week’s highest new entry looks set to be the posthumously produced track featuring Lil Peep and XXXTentacion, “Falling Down” (RCA), which starts at #10.

Jess Glynne’s “All I Am” (Atlantic) is up two places to #9, and Eminem's “Killshot”—the latest response in his feud with Machine Gun Kelly—is at #11.

Rita Ora is on course to debut inside the Top 20 with new single “Let You Love Me” (Atlantic) currently at #15 and French Montana's “No Stylist” f/Drake (Black Butter) opens at #22.

In other U.K. news, it was announced today that if there was a second Brexit vote, it would be officially known as "backsies."
