YOUR WEEKEND
BOX OFFICE

Universal's Jack Black-starrer, The House With a Clock in Its Walls, spends its first weekend as the #1 film at the domestic box office with nearly $27m. That said, overall, this was still one of the worst weekends of the year for the cinematic world.

The House performed decently, earning a B+ CinemaScore and 68% at Rotten Tomatoes. Of the 3,592 theaters it opened in, 400 were IMAX screens. It's worth noting that an exclusive IMAX 3D version of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was included in those showings and could have contributed to the first-week draw.
