QUEEN'S ARRIVAL

On the first episode of Nicki Minaj’s Beats 1 show Queen Radio Thursday, the rapper said that her album Queen would be coming Friday at noon EDT. One weekend later, the album sits at #1 on iTunes and #2 at Apple Music, and “Barbie Dreams” is Top 5 on both services.

As it turned out, Minaj beat her self-imposed deadline by 15 minutes—on Apple Music.

During the episode, Minaj claimed that she’d finished working on the album just three hours before show time.

At various points, she’d said Queen was dropping on 6/15, 8/10 and 8/17. It’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind.
