During a Q&A session at the Grammy Museum’s Grammy Camp event at USC’s Thornton School of Music, Epic artist, Best New Artist winner and ace songwriter Meghan Trainor is briefed on an array of camp activities, including submitting in the newly announced flamenco-bluegrass-metal category, making your acceptance speech in under 11 seconds and bum-rushing the podium, Kanye-style. Later, John Poppo jumped out of a cake. Seen wishing the secret committee would make us disappear are (l-r) Grammy Museum Executive Director Michael Sticka, Trainor and Executive Education Director David R. Sears.
We kid, of course, but in fact Grammy Camp offers U.S. High School kids a comprehensive, immersive introduction to the world of music, including music creation, performance, recording, video production and music journalism (for the love of all that's holy, kids, stay away from the latter). Financial assistance is available for qualified applicants. Plus, you get to do all of the above in a canoe.
