U.K. MIDWEEKS: DRAKE ON TOP

Drake is set to top the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart on Friday as 12 tracks from Scorpion (Island) rule the Spotify Top 20 in Blighty and the album sits at the top of the iTunes chart. Last year, “One Dance” spent 15 consecutive weeks at #1 on singles—will Drake rule the summer charts?

Scorpion is 1k combined sales ahead of Florence and the Machine’s High as Hope (Virgin EMI) at #2 midway stage. If the race continues as is, Florence will settle for second spot after reaching #1 with her previous three albums.

The most popular tracks from Scorpion are also charting high on the Official Singles midweeks, with “Nonstop” at #2, “Don’t Matter To Me” f/Michael Jackson at #3 and “Emotionless” at #5.

The second highest new albums entry this week is currently Gorillaz with The Now Now (Parlophone) at #4. Guns N’ Roses remastered box-set edition of ’87 classic Appetite for Destruction (UMG) follows at #6.

Bullet for my Valentine’s sixth album, Gravity (Spinefarm), is at #7 and John Coltrane’s Both Directions At Once: The Lost Album (Decca) starts at #8.

On the Official Singles midweek chart, George Ezra is still #1 with “Shotgun” (Columbia).

Jonas Blue f/Jack & Jack’s “Rise” (Virgin EMI) is currently up two spots to #10, while Tiesto & Dzeko f/Preme & Post Malone’s “Jackie Chan” (Virgin EMI) is up three to #17.
