The Prince Estate has given the go-ahead for Live Nation Urban and TCG Entertainment to create and tour a symphonic Prince celebration with a little help from Questlove. The first leg starts in September.
4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince will tour the South and East Coast in September and October and additional performances through 2018-19 will be announced at a later date, including international shows through Europe.
Featuring a full symphony orchestra, the show will also include a live band with vocalists. The show will highlight many of his hits, alongside lesser known gems.
Questlove has helped curate the music and orchestral arrangements.
“We’re looking forward to working with Live Nation Urban and TCG Entertainment on this production and giving fans a unique experience,” Prince Estate representative Troy Carter said.
Nor word on whether the orchestra will dress in purple.
