IT'S OFFICIAL: WARNER/CHAPPELL CUES CARIANNE
AS COO

Now it’s official. As rumored here some time ago, Carianne Marshall is joining Jon Platt’s Warner/Chappell Music as COO starting in June. She'll be based in the pubbery's L.A. offices and will report to Platt.

The well-liked and respected Marshall most recently served as Partner/Head of creative Services and Head of Creative Licensing at SONGS Music Publishing, where she worked with songwriters like Lorde, The Weeknd, Diplo and DJ Mustard. And after SONGS’ sale to Kobalt she is said to have built a cool fort out of bundled stacks of cash.

Platt hailed Marshall as “passionate, dynamic, and forward-thinking; songwriters love her; and she has forged great relationships across the industry. As the latest addition to my senior management group, she will pioneer innovative opportunities for our songwriters and work with me to evolve the Warner/Chappell culture into the future. I’m pleased to welcome her to our world-class team.”

“I am thrilled to be joining Jon and his accomplished team at Warner/Chappell,” said Marshall, who added that pubco “has committed to developing its roster and people while creating a supportive environment for the global songwriting community, and I’m excited to help reinforce and build upon this legacy. I can think of no better place to be right now, and of no better person to learn from and collaborate with than Jon.”

USC grad Marshall began her career in live music production, booking and management with L.A.-based VOX Productions, moved to Marketing and College Radio Promo at Elektra and later segued to DreamWorks Music Publishing. She joined SONGS as a partner in 2006.
