MAMAS AND PAPAS ARE A JAM BAND

Jampol Artist Management (JAM, Inc.) has taken over worldwide management of The Mamas and The Papas, as well as individual management of Michelle Phillips and the other group members' individual estates.

JAM Inc., which oversees the estates of Janis Joplin, Otis Redding, Ramones, The Doors and Jefferson Airplane, will work with the estates and families of John Phillips, Mama Cass Elliot and Denny Doherty to oversee projects advancing, promoting and protecting The Mamas and The Papas’ legacy.

“It's incredibly important to me, the 'last member standing', as well as the Estates of John Phillips, Cass Elliot and Denny Doherty, that our story be told authentically and credibly, and that our music be handled lovingly, respectfully and artistically,” Michelle Phillips said.

JAM Inc. will oversee new physical and digital releases, syncs in visual media, a feature film biopic and a documentary as well as stage productions, books and special content tailored to streaming and other digital platforms.

Known for their hits “California Dreamin’” and the Grammy-winning “Monday, Monday,” The Mamas and The Papas were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Elliot died of heart failure in 1974,

John Phillips died in 2001, and Doherty in 2007.

“I know that the integrity of the group—and the integrity of my mother—will be treated with the same respect and care that I have accorded them for so long,” said Mama Cass’ daughter Owen Elliot Kugell. “It’s a very good day.”
