NONESUCH TAPS
DAN COHEN

Former Republic Records marketing VP Dan Cohen has joined Nonesuch Records as VP of marketing. He reports to Nonesuch President David Bither and is based in New York.

A publicist prior to venturing into marketing, Cohen has considerable experience working the niche artists Nonesuch specializes in. His career includes stints at Real World, Astralwerks, Palm Pictures, Caroline Distribution, Capitol Records and Girlie Action. He has worked campaigns for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Air, Massive Attack, the Luaka Bop label and Sigur Ros.

Over the last two years at Republic, he worked on projects such as Lorde’s debut album and campaigns for John Mellencamp, Mondo Cozmo, Phantogram, Marian Hill and others.

“One of the remarkable things about our label has been the stability of its core management team,” Bither said. “The opportunity to introduce a new voice to that group—particularly someone with the reputation of Dan Cohen—was a special one and I look forward to Nonesuch benefiting from the rich experience he brings us.”
