U.K. CHARTS: LIAM RETURNS TO #1

Warner Bros. U.K. has scored its second Official Albums #1 of the year with Liam Gallagher As You Were. It ending the week with 103k combined sales making it 2017’s third fastest seller. On the singles list, Post Malone scores a second week at #1 with “Rockstar” (Island) thanks to high streaming stats.

As You Were, the former Oasis singer’s solo debut, sits behind fellow WMG act Ed Sheeran (672k) and Sony’s Rag’n’Bone Man (117k) on the list of highest first week sales in Blighty this year. Of that 103k, 91% of sales were physical purchases and downloads. Including his history with Oasis, it’s Gallagher’s ninth #1 album.

This week’s second highest new entry is rapper Giggs at #2 with mixtape Wamp Dem (No BS). a-ha follow at #6 with acoustic album MTV Unplugged: Summer Solstice (UMC), Marilyn Manson is at #7 with Heaven Upside Down (Caroline) and The Darkness finish at #8 with Pinewood Smile (Cooking Vinyl).

Two debuts complete the Top 10: JP Cooper with Raised Under Grey Skies (Island) at #9 and Jason Manford’s A Different Stage (Decca) at #10.

On the Official Singles Chart, last week’s list remains fairly unchanged with Malone at #1, Camila Cabello f/Young Thug at #2 with “Havana” (Epic/Syco), Sam Smith at #3 with “Too Good at Goodbyes” (Capitol), Dua Lipa at #4 with “New Rules” (Warner Bros.) and Avicii f/Rita Ora’s “Lonely Together” (Positiva) at #5.

This week’s highest new entry is Giggs f/Donaeo at #28 with “Linquo”, followed by Smith’s “Pray” at #39.
