NEW U.K. DEALS: JAMIE HARTMAN REJOINS RESERVOIR

Manager Paul Harris, Rationale, Warner/Chappell U.K. MD Mike Smith and Senior International Creative Manager Paul Smith

A number of new deals in the U.K.’s publishing, major and independent sectors have been freshly inked recently, with additions to the rosters of Warner/Chappell and SO Recordings. Reservoir, meanwhile, has extended an agreement with top songwriter Jamie Hartman.

Reservoir has worked with Hartman since the 2012 acquisition of British pubco Reverb Music, and will continue to co-publish his hundreds of titles. Hartman has had recent success with Rag’n’Bone Man’s chart-topper “Human” and Miriam Bryant’s 4x-platinum single “Black Car.” Other artists he’s written for across a 20-year career include Kygo, Jennifer Hudson, Leon, JP Cooper and Kacy Hill. Hartman will continue to be based out of his recording studio at the Village Recorder in West L.A., with Creative handled by Reservoir/Reverb MD Annette Barrett in London, plus additional day-to-day support from L.A.-based Reservoir SVP of Creative and A&R Donna Caseine.

In other publishing news, Warner/Chappell has signed a worldwide deal with London-based singer/songwriter and producer Rationale. The artist, who has a recording deal with Warner Bros. Records U.K, released his self-titled debut album on 10/6. He's also written for Rag'n'Bone Man and Katy Perry.

Also new to Mike Smith’s roster is multi-platinum-selling songwriter Crispin Hunt (pictured left), who has signed a worldwide deal. Hunt initially found fame as vocalist for Sheffield-based alt rock band Longpigs. Since 2000, he has pursued a songwriting and production career, writing for artists including Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine, JP Cooper and Jake Bugg.

Finally, British rockers Turbowolf (above, with reps from SO and Raw Power Mgmt.) have been signed to indie label SO Recordings. The band released their debut eponymous album in 2011 on Hassle Records and follow-up Two Hands via Spinefarm in 2015. Their new single, “The Free Life,” is out on 10/16. A new album, also entitled The Free Life, is scheduled for release in March.
