HAND IN HAND BRINGS TOGETHER STARS, RAISING $44M

George Clooney, will.i.am, Justin Bieber, Wilmer Valderrama and Taboo (pictured above) were just a few members of the limelight to come together for last night's Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief.

The event—produced by SB Projects (Scooter Braun and Alison Kaye) and Den of Thieves (Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager), along with Bernard "Bun B" Freeman—drew in the likes of Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, George Strait, Clooney, Julia Roberts, Leonardo Dicaprio, J Balvin, Bieber, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Drake, Hilary Duff, Jamie Foxx, Faith Hill, Joe Jonas, DJ Khaled, Tim McGraw, Questlove, Kelly Rowland, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Barbra Streisand and Justin Timberlake.

The one-hour telethon aired live from Los Angeles, New York and Nashville at 8pm ET with a 8pm PT rebroadcast on the West Coast via ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, CMT and more. It was also streamed on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, and made available via BET, Bravo, E!, HBO, iHeartMedia, MTV, Oxygen, SiriusXM, Univision and Westwood One. More details can be found here on the official website.

With many stars taking calls and some delivering musical performances, upwards of $14m was raised for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma just between 8pm and 9pm. Another $30m has been raised since the show ended, ABC News reported. Hand in Hand attracted more than 15.7m viewers on broadcast TV Tuesday night. NBC drew the biggest crowd with approximately 6.1m (on America's Got Talent night). CBS saw nearly 4.1m. ABC delivered 4m, while Fox added around 1.6m.

Stevie Wonder opened things up with "Lean On Me" and made sure to point out that "Anyone who believes there is no such thing as global warming must be blind... or unintelligent.” Usher and Blake Shelton teamed up for “Stand By Me,” Dave Matthews soothed with “Mercy." And a surprising quartet made up of Brad Paisley, Demi Lovato, Darius Rucker and CeCe Winans got folks to their feet with “With a Little Help from My Friends” at the Grand Ole Opry.

Braun also brought his client Tori Kelly together with "Despacito" singer Luis Fonsi for Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” which never fails to elicit goosebumps.

And one can't forget George Strait, who proudly led Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton, among other country acts, through his “Texas" at the end of the night.
