IT’S SHOWTIME FOR SIGN O’ THE TIMES FILM

Thanks to Showtime, Prince’s 30-year-old concert film Sign o’ the Times will see the light of day after an absence of more than a decade from U.S. television. The cable network recently announced it had purchased the rights to the film, which it plans to air 9/16 at 9pm.

Shot mostly at Prince’s Paisley Park Studios (as well as in the Netherlands and Belgium), the concert film was released on the heels of his 1987 double album of the same name, and features many shared tracks, as well as earlier favorites, including “Little Red Corvette.”

In other Prince news, the late singer’s estate remains embroiled in a legal battle regarding a $30m deal with NPG Records and Universal Music Group.
