HOUSE CONCERTS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights org Amnesty International has teamed up with Sofar Sounds for a global refugee concert series, Give a Home for Human Rights, that will see 300 shows take place on 9/20 in people’s homes in more than 200 cities worldwide. Ed Sheeran, Fossils, Laura Mvula, Tom Odell and Hozier are among the 1k musicians on the line-up.

Sheeran will play in Washington D.C., Mvula is in L.A., Fossils are in Calcutta and Freshly Ground will play Cape Town. Daughter, Kate Tempest, Jessie Ware and The National are among the acts playing London. KT Tunstall, Julia Holter and Moby will perform in L.A. homes; the 25 different concerts in New York City include shows by Joan As Police Woman, Savoir Adore and Juan Molina.

The full list of gigs is available here. You have until 9/10 to apply for tickets.

Money raised will support Amnesty’s work to protect human rights around the world as the global refugee population exceeds 22m, reportedly the worst refugee crisis since the WWII.
