While having always been at least very politically vocal in the past, Rap/Rock(?) singer(?) Kid Rock appears to have taken the next step in his activism with a run for U.S. senate. And we thought he just wanted to be a cowboy.
He's been speaking since yesterday on the validity of his website, here, on which you can purchase a lawn sign, trucker hat, T-shirt or bumper sticker declaring your support for Kid Rock's 2018 US senate run. The site features a photo of Kid Rock seated next to a stuffed buck in a would-be-stately setting and a header asking "Are You Scared?"
To which our answer is yes, undeniably so.
I have had a ton of emails and texts asking me if this website is real… https://t.co/RRVgISDFeq The answer is an absolute YES. pic.twitter.com/uYCUg6mjW1

The campaign merchandise sales are currently through his former record label Warner Bros.' domain. Curious as he's now with Broken Bow/BMG on what he describes as a "unique deal." The FEC rules dictate that campaign merch sales cannot be for profit but, Rock's been ardent in his assertions that this is a strategy not a scam. And while the FEC doesn't have a filing for his candidacy yet...
The self-proclaimed "Pimp of the nation" still has time to cast his hat in the ring. He has 15 days after declaring his intent to file a Statement of Candidacy with the FEC. This is something he notes in his most recent blog post, in which he continues to declare the reality of his intent and cryptically claim "IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT." He also tweeted this:
Stay tuned, I will have a major announcement in the near future - Kid Rock
