A HISTORIC DOSE OF DEAD & COMPANY

This is one long, strange trip that likely won’t be ending any time soon. Dead & Company’s massive touring numbers in 2017 were the equal of the Grateful Dead’s peak three decades ago. The band closed up shop for the summer with a two-date stop at Chicago’s Wrigley Field 6/30 and 7/1, where the band performed before more than 80,000 fans, in the process setting a record for most paid tickets for a single concert at the ballpark.

Over 20 dates, their 2017 tour included 10 sellouts and drew nearly 500,000 fans at venues as iconic as the band itself (including Wrigley, Fenway Park, Hollywood Bowl).

The Dead also continues to keep its heart in a righteous place. A presence at every venue, the Participation Row social action village helped organize actions such as voter registration while raising $176,930 for 14 different nonprofit organizations.

And thanks to some record-setting mushrooms,Manager Bernie Cahill will be vacationing on Neptune.
