ASHLEY MAKES LEAP TO VEEP AT PULSE

Ashley Calhoun has been upped to VP A&R at Pulse Music Group. Calhoun, who steps up from Senior Director of A&R, will be charged with new urban-music initiatives and label services for Pulse’s clients and continue to oversee A&R/creative for Starrrah, Dave East, OZ, G. Koop and other writers, artists and producers in her stable.

Co-CEO Scott Cutler praised Calhoun as “an invaluable partner” who has “earned tremendous respect with the Pulse family but even more consequentially within the larger music business.”

Calhoun (who was Creative Director at Rondor Music Publishing prior to joining the company) hailed Cutler and fellow Pulse principals Josh Abraham, Anne Preven, Maria Egan and Jason Bernard and expressed her eagerness “to help build upon their vision.”

As always after such announcements at Pulse’s Silver Lake offices, there was mandatory breakdancing; as always, Cutler "did something to his back" while attempting to pop-and-lock.
