While Max Martin has co-produced five tracks on Katy Perry’s next album Witness, the Capitol Records star is finding new songwriters and producers to work with, among them Corin Roddick and Meagan James of Purity Ring, Australian DJ Hayden James and Jack Garratt.
Idolator published a partial list of the individuals making their way into Katy’s world. Garratt co-wrote and produced “Power”; producer-writer Roddick was part of the teams behind “Mind Maze,” “Bigger Than Me” and “Miss You More”; and Hot Chip produced “Into Me You See,” which the band’s Alexis Taylor and Joe Goddard co-wrote.
Jeff Bhasker, fresh off the Harry Styles album, co-wrote and produced “Pendulum,” while Mike WiLL-Made It did the same for “Tsunami.”
“Chained to the Rhythm” writer Ali Payami, a Martin cohort, has multiple credits as do “Dark Horse” co-writer Sarah Hudson and Ferras Alqaisi, who worked on four numbers, among them “Bon Appetit” and “Déjà vu,” which James produced. Sia, who contributed to “Chained to the Rhythm,” also worked on “Hey Hey Hey.”
Witness will be released Friday.
