ORCHARD-SONY DISTRO REORG COMES TO FRUITION

Sony Music is set to combine its indie distribution groups into The Orchard, and its teams will converge as a single global team under the leadership of The Orchard CEO Brad Navin, who offered the following explanatory message.

Partners and Colleagues,

Today is an exciting milestone in our 20-year history of The Orchard. Sony Music Entertainment announced they will combine their regional distribution groups around the world into The Orchard, uniting as a single global team.

In the US, RED distribution sales and label management staff will join us at our New York headquarters, with additional field staff in eight cities across America.

Combining our efforts will offer you, our clients, a full range of label and artist marketing services, sales and distribution, across all formats, platforms and territories from anywhere in the world.

Bob Morelli now runs a new company called RED MUSIC, a full-service marketing agency and label services company. Comprised of the former STACHE MEDIA team as well as a frontline label services group (formerly RAL) which provides Sony Music-backed labels and joint venture imprints with release planning, marketing and radio promotion. RED MUSIC will continue to provide services to The Orchard’s suite of label partners.
