MUSICARES NYC: HAVE A CIGAR

MusiCares' annual Summer Festival Kickoff was held last night (6/1) atop the Sony roof in NYC. The exclusive cocktail soiree was led by MusiCares Board of Directors Vice Chair and Mick Management CEO Michael McDonald, with proceeds going directly to MusiCares. The event took place on the eve of The Governors Ball Music Festival and is intended to raise awareness and bring together the local music community. The event featured a performance from MUNA as well as a DJ set from The Knocks.

MusiCares, launched by The Recording Academy in 1989, provides financial assistance for basic living expenses in addition to medical assistance with services covering everything from Alzheimers to HIV/AIDS treatment, psychotherapy and even dental care. The org also offers nationwide education workshops on financial, legal and substance abuse matters. More info here.
