TAG THEY'RE IT: SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS

Back in 2015, Josh Ritter wrote a song about his hometown of Moscow, Idaho, exploring the feeling of returning home after a tour or just to visit family. Less than two years later, it lands on the finale of Showtime’s Billions and sets thumbs in action on Shazam.

Ritter’s “Homecoming” (Pytheas) is this week’s biggest mover on the Shazam USA Top100, rising 158 slots to #43. The U.K. dug the track as well, pushing it up 184 slots to #17; only Jonas Blue’s “Mama” (Virgin EMI) posted bigger numbers in Blighty.

Dr. Octogon’s 1996 track “Blue Flowers” (SKG) was another beneficiary of a TV show sync, playing over the end credits on HBO’s Silicon Valley and pushing the title to #58.

Among new releases, Miley Cyrus’ latest single “Malibu” (RCA) scored best, rising 134 slots to #67. It surfed past the new single from Sony Latin’s Wisin and Pitbull’s contribution to the Fate of the Furious soundtrack.
