THE SECOND COMING OF SILVERTONE

Sony Music U.K. is dusting off the Silvertone imprint—known primarily as the label that first signed The Stone Roses and released the British band’s debut album in 1989. Silvertone was owned by the Zomba Music Group, which was renamed Jive in 2009 before being eventually folded into RCA.

Silvertone 2.0 will run through the Sony Music Commercial Group, helmed by MD Phil Savill. British family trio Wildwood Kin, the first act to be signed, will release their debut album later this year. The group, currently on tour with fellow Sony CMG band Ward Thomas, has backing from BBC Radio 2.
