Among the 14 deals for live premium content that Twitter announced Monday is one with Live Nation that will allow the streaming of concerts. Curtain goes up on the service 5/13 with a concert by the Zac Brown Band.
Twitter announced the packages at the first Digital Content NewFronts in New York. Joining heavyweights such as Major League Baseball, the PGA and Buzz Feed in similar arrangements, Live Nation will deliver select concerts and exclusive, original content. After the Zac Brown show from Atlanta, the lineup includes Train, Marian Hill, Portugal. The Man and August Alsina.
“Our partnership with Twitter allows us to amplify the live music experience creating a tool for artists to reach millions of fans around the world” said Jordan Zachary, Chief Strategy Officer for Live Nation. “Through Twitter’s product suite, fans will be able to be immersed in the live experience and interact with each other in real time as they watch some of the year’s most exciting concert events.”
