U.K. SIGNINGS: MAC & PHIL JOIN W/C

Mike Smith’s Warner/Chappell U.K. has signed producer duo Mac & Phil, whose names you’ll find on the credits of The Chainsmokers’ “Bloodstream,” as well as music for Emeli Sandé, James Arthur and Naughty Boy. In other signing news, Jay Pryor has joined the roster of Virgin/EMI and Sony label Relentless has signed London rapper C Biz.

Mac & Phil are Matthew Holmes and Phil Leigh. They are managed by Hannan Malik at TenForty Management and will be A&R'd by WCM U.K. Senior A&R Manager Tom Overbury.

Smith said the songwriters are at the forefront of a wave of fresh young talent around the world. “Their ambition going forward knows no boundaries. They are an inspiration to work with,” he added. Malik said the “fantastic” folks working at WCM U.K. and their close relationship with Katie Vinten and her team in L.A. was the “icing on the cake." As well as continuing their songwriting partnership with The Chainsmokers, Mac & Phil are working with a number of developing artists, including Emily Warren, who is featured on The Chainsmokers’ “Paris.”

Elsewhere, Ted Cockle’s UMG U.K. label Virgin EMI has bolstered its roster with Irish producer Jay Pryor. He remixed ZAYN’s “Cruel” alongside Snakehips and co-produced Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki’s “Just Hold On.” Pryor's two singles, “All This” and “I Know,” have nearly 2m Spotify streams to date. Management is Thomas Ballans and Nick Myers at Future House Music and Fine Management, respectively.

In other label news, Relentless has another new signing as part of its joint venture with Link Up TV. C Biz, who is part of the Everything Relevant family, has been signed by A&R exec Adele White after notching up nearly 19k followers on SoundCloud.

Back at publishing, hotly tipped Brighton band High Tyde have inked a worldwide deal with Imagem. The band is signed for recordings to indie Atomizer Records—the label recently set up by Maverick managers Tony Beard and Chris Melian (who both rep High Tyde).
