Amazon has further moved into the U.K. live music scene by offering its Prime members pre sale tickets, premium seating and access to VIP lounges at venues in London. Gigs from Emeli Sandé (pictured), Ariana Grande, John Mayer and Little Mix are part of the first offerings.
New Amazon lounges are now open at AEG venues The O2 and The SSE Arena, Wembley, and Prime members can get access for an exclusive viewing experience. The tech giant will also have presence via reserved enclosures at a number of British festivals this summer including AEG's British Summer Time Hyde Park, and Kilimanjaro events Live at Chelsea and Kew the Music.
Pre sales start 24 hours before general public on sale and will start rolling out this Thursday. Alongside the artists mentioned above, they cover U.K. tours from ABC, Art Garfunkel, The Darkness, KC & The Sunshine Band and Sparks.
After first launching its ticketing operation in the U.K. in 2015; does Amazon have
grand plans to take on Live Nation's Ticketmaster? In other news, we're still waiting to hear what former BBC man Jason Carter's job title will be. Stay tuned.
