Entercom will be dumping the two stations all white males of a certain age have programmed into their car stereos in L.A. as it divests stations in seven markets to meet FCC requirements for its CBS Radio merger.
Jack-FM (KCBS) and The Sound (KSWD) are among the stations being placed in the Entercom Divestiture Trust, which will house the 14 stations it needs to sell, RadioInsight reported. Entercom will be divesting, at a minimum, one FM station in Los Angeles, four in San Francisco, three in Sacramento, two in Boston and Seattle, and one in San Diego and Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
Entercom is seeking permission to assign the licenses of 43 different stations into the trust to give it flexibility when the time comes to sell or keep.
