TAG THEY'RE IT: SHAZAM'S BIGGEST MOVERS

Fresh off a performance at the BRITS, The Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s single “Something Just Like This” (Disruptor/Columbia) tops the list of Biggest Movers on the USA and U.K. Shazam Top 100 charts. While new singles are getting plenty of tags, NBC’s This is Us is shaping up as TV’s newest jukebox hero.

Two versions of a song penned for the 2/21 episode of the Fox-produced series This is Us land in the Top 5 Biggest Movers list: Hannah Miller’s acoustic ballad version of “We Can Always Come Back to This” and Brian Tyree’s soul version that honors the Memphis beginnings of the character William Hill.

The show's composer, Siddhartha Khosla, wrote the song with his bandmate Chris Pierce. Universal Music Enterprises is releasing the music from the series.

And speaking of TV boosts: Michael Kiwanuka’s “Cold Little Heart” (Interscope) attracted Shazamers after his track was used in as the theme in the premiere of HBO’s Big Little Lies.

It’s been quite a rush for all five of the Biggest Movers as none were in the Top 200 last week. “Something Just Like This” flies to #15, rising 186 slots in the U.S.; Zedd & Alessia Cara’s “Stay” (Def Jam/Interscope) is up 148 slots to #53; and Calvin Harris f/Frank Ocean & Migos’ “Slide” (Columbia) is at #62, a spike of 139 slots. In the U.K., the Harris/Ocean/Migos track was the week’s second biggest gainer, rising 183 slots to #18.

TV commercials are having a huge impact on the Shazam U.K. chart for older records: Cat Stevens on Amazon Prime; Dixie Cups for Premier Inn; Nina Simone in promos for OJ: Made in America; and The O’Jays in Samsung adverts.
