MIGOS MOVE TO MOTOWN/CAPITOL

After a storm of industry chatter about who would sign Migos, with multiple labels and other major players all claiming they had it locked, the trio has inked with Motown/Capitol. It’s a major coup for the Tower, whose strong relationship with red-hot label Quality Control Music gave them the inside track and helped them sign the hottest sensation in hip-hop culture. Capitol Music Group ruler Steve Barnett and Motown Prez Ethiopia Habtemariam are leading the charge on this following the explosive growth of Lil Yachty, further strengthening their ties to QC and the Atlanta market.

Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” became a bona fide phenomenon late last year and dominated the streaming platform for months; the group’s most recent album bowed at #1 (they've thus far amassed 889k SPS with a ridiculous 854m streams). QC colleague Lil Yachty, meanwhile, who got a big Grammy-night look via a longform Target spot, has earned a 239k SPS total with 287m streams.
