CASH MONEY GIVES BACK FOR ALL-STAR WEEKEND
On the eve of NBA All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, Cash Money Records will host a “Food Packing Party” on 2/16 at New Home Full Gospel Ministries from 4pm-7pm, to benefit their charity The Johnny and Gladys Williams Foundation.
The non-profit was co-founded in 1998 by Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams, in honor of their deceased parents.
Over 200 volunteers will participate along with roster artists and special celebrity guests, and the food packed will be enough to feed 50,000 less fortunate families— those affected by the recent tornado throughout New Orleans East. Provisions will be distributed by local food banks.
The partner for the event is New York investment firm Goldman Sachs.
“It’s our 20-year anniversary as a major label distributed through Republic Records/UMG and we wanted to celebrate this milestone by giving back as much as we can during 2017. We’ve done the Turkey Giveaway for the past 20 years, but we felt like we could do more. All-Star Weekend provided a wonderful opportunity to invite some friends down and do some good. We’re very thankful to Goldman Sachs for joining us,” says Slim.
Birdman states, “All the glory goes to God. We’ve been blessed to be in this game 20 years. We want to empower and uplift the next generation and the generations to follow. This event is just the beginning.”
