PENTATONIX TO ACCOMPANY BOWL FIREWORKS
Fresh off their Grammy win, Pentatonix will provide the Fourth of July entertainment at the Hollywood Bowl this summer, performing 7/2-4 with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra accompanying the fireworks.
Last year saw Chicago handle the honors; in previous years the coveted booking has gone to Daryl Hall & John Oates, James Taylor, John Fogerty and Peter, Paul & Mary among others. Subscriptions to the Bowl are on sale now.
The Bowl announced its summer concert series today. Among the offerings are Phoenix on 6/15; Seu Jorge’s tribute to David Bowie on 6/25; Tony Bennett with Gustavo Dudamel conducting the L.A. Philharmonic on 7/14 &15; Bryan Ferry with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra on 8/26; Steve Winwood and Mavis Staples on 9/13; and Solange on 9/24.
Jazz shows include an Ella Fittzgerald/Dizzy Gillespie tribute featuring Leslie Odom Jr., Andra Day and others; Herbie Hancock and Kamasi Washington on 8/23; recent Blue Note signing Trombone Shorty on 8/30; and a tribute Quincy Jones’ A&M years on 9/6.
