One of Grammy Week’s most tantalizing rumors had to do with the possible pairing of two of the hottest young managers, Jeffrey Azoff and Brandon Creed, both highly regarded and extremely well-liked.
Most insiders feel this will be a winning combination. Azoff's experience at CAA has made him a touring expert, while Creed’s wildly successful run with Bruno Mars was a career-defining game-changer.
Azoff the Younger’s clients include Meghan Trainor and Harry Styles—whose first solo album and single will be hitting in late April or early May, with Jeff Bhasker producing under his new Columbia deal. These young stars could complement Creed’s roster of Sarah Bareilles, Daya, LANY, Mark Ronson, Troye Sivan and Skip Marley, the genetically supercharged second-generation Island artist featured on the new Katy Perry smash, “Chained to the Rhythm.”
Big things are highly likely in ’17 if this rumored pairing comes to fruition. Insiders say the deal is not done yet but should close soon. But where will Papa Azoff play—if anywhere—in this combined new entity apart from consigliere extraordinaire? Stay tuned, sports fans.
